IS215UCVEH2AF VME Board Versa Eurocard Module Function
IS215UCVEH2AF is a VME board developed by GE. It is a part of Mark VI control system. This single-slot VME (Versa Module Eurocard) board plays a crucial role in the control system's operations. The system features an Intel Celeron microprocessor running at 300 MHz and is accompanied by 32 MB of DRAM memory. It offers flexibility with the choice between a 16 MB or 128 MB Compact Flash Module. Additionally, the system includes a 128 KB L2 cache, enhancing data access speeds. To support controller functions, an 8K battery-backed SRAM is allocated, serving as NVRAM within the system architecture.

Signal Board Functional Description
A single-board controller is the heart of the system. The controller includes the main processor and redundant Ethernet drivers to communicate with networked I/O, and additional Ethernet drivers for the control network. A real-time, multi-tasking operating system is used for the main processor and I/O modules. Control software is provided in a configurable control block language and stored in non-volatile memory. It is similar to IEEE® 854 32-bit floating-point format, and Sequential Function Charts (SFC) are also available for complex sequencing.

Board Configuration and Connectivity

• Interface Ports: The controller is equipped with two serial RS-232C ports and an Ethernet port. Additionally, it includes connectors for external peripherals such as a keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
• On-board Components: Housing a high-speed processor, flash memory, and DRAM, the board efficiently handles processing tasks and stores essential system data.
• Data Acquisition: External data is directed to the IS215UCVEH2AAE via the VCMI communications board. The type of data transmission can vary, using either process I/O (simplex) or voted I/O (TMR), depending on the system configuration.
• Variants: There exist multiple versions of the UCV VME controller card. The UCVE board variant specializes in providing one to three PROFIBUS-DP masters, focusing on communication applications based on ISO/OSI model layers one and two.

IS215UCVEH2A is a VME Controller Card manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VI Series used in GE Speedtronic Control Systems. The UCVEH2 is the standard Mark VI controller. It is a single-slot board using a 300 MHz Intel Celeron processor with 16 or 128 MB of flash memory and 32 MB of DRAM. A single 10BaseT/100BaseTX (RJ-45) Ethernet port provides connectivity to the UDH. The UCVEM_ _ modules have all the features of the UCVEH2 with the addition of supporting additional Ethernet ports and Profibus. Some UCVEM_ _ modules support secondary 10BaseT/100BaseTX Ethernet ports for use on a separate IP logical subnet. The secondary Ethernet port is configured through the toolbox. The controller validates its toolbox configuration against the existing hardware each time the rack is powered up. A separate subnet address allows the controller to uniquely identify an Ethernet port.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:

IS215VCMIH2C is a VME Bus Master Controller Board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VI Series used in GE Speedtronic Control Systems. The communication link between the controller and the I/O boards, as well as the link to the IONet system control network, is provided by the VME Bus Master Controller (VCMI) board. The IDs for all the boards in the rack and their corresponding terminal boards are managed by VCMI, which is also the VME bus master in the control and I/O racks.

• The IONet may link to various I/O racks, each of which has a VCMI board. Three simplex system setups using the VCMI with local and distant I/O are shown in the accompanying figure.

• The first example is a compact system in which all of the I/O is mounted in the VME control rack, negating the need for any additional distant I/O racks. The VCMI features three IONet ports, with one for each of the three channels (R, S, and T).

• A larger system with distant I/O racks makes up the second illustration. Although many I/O racks are supported by one IONet, only one rack is displayed here. Regarding I/O boards and points, all I/O channels (R, S, and T) are identical.

Mark VI

The Mark VIe control system is a flexible platform used in multiple applications. It features high-speed, networked input/output (I/O) for simplex, dual, and triple redundant systems. Industry-standard Ethernet communications are used for I/O, controllers, and supervisory interface to operator and maintenance stations, as well as third-party systems. The ControlST* software suite, which contains the ToolboxST* toolset, is used with Mark VIe controls and related systems for programming, configuration, trending, and analyzing diagnostics. It provides quality, time-coherent data in the controllers and at the plant level for effectively managing control system equipment. The Mark VIeS Safety control is a stand-alone safety control system for safety-critical applications that conform to IEC®-61508. It also uses the ControlST software suite to simplify maintenance, but retains a unique set of certified hardware and software blocks. The ToolboxST application provides a means to lock or unlock the Mark VIeS for configuration and safety instrumented function (SIF) programming.
