DS200SDCIG1A

DS200SDCIG1A is an SDCI DC Power Supply and Instrumentation Board for DC2000 drives. As each fuse includes an LED indicator that informs when the fuse with which it is related blows, troubleshooting and usability of the board are improved.

 Features

To view the board and check for a bright indicator LED light, follow the instructions below.

• Examine the board and any LED lights that are lighted by opening the cabinet in which it is installed. Because there is the possibility of high-voltage present on the board, do not touch it or any components nearby. Takedown all information you can regarding the fuse identify.
• Remove all current from the drive after that. Open the cabinet and test the board to ensure that all power has been removed. To avoid damage, you may need to give the board some time to discharge all power.

Characteristics

DS200SHVMG1A is an SCR High Voltage M-Frame Interface Board manufactured by General Electric under EX2000. The SCR High Voltage M-Frame Interface Board (SHVM) interfaces signals from the SCR bridge of an M-frame drive to the DCFB or SDCI Power Supply Board and PCCA Power Connect Card.

Functional Description

The SHVM board performs the following functions.

• Converts shunt signals (-500 mV to + 500 mV) into differential frequency outputs (0 - 500 kHz) that are sent to the DCFB or SDCI board.
• Incorporates hardware jumper selectable 10:1 current transformers to provide additional current attenuation capability.
• Provides attenuation of ac line, motor armature, and SCR bridge voltages
• The SHVM board includes configurable jumpers, wiring plug connectors, and stab connectors parts of the board.

DS200SDCCG5A

DS200SDCCG5A is an Analog Output Board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VI Series used in the GE Speedtronic gas turbine control systems. The SDCC includes the main software and circuitry for a drive or exciter. Three 16-bit microprocessors and related circuits make up the SDCC, which are connected through dual-ported RAM. Dual-ported RAM [DPR] is RAM set up as memory arrays that two microprocessors may access both independently and concurrently. Additionally, the SDCC has interface circuitry that joins with other boards to create different kinds of ac and dc motor drives. The interface circuitry manages and processes consumer I/O, drive, and motor signals. (In TC2000 applications, the interface circuitry and three primary microprocessors are utilized for various tasks.) The three primary processors of the SDCC are:

• An 80C186 microcontroller (U1) that employs both digital and analog I/O and has a variety of built-in peripheral features.

• Among these features are the direct memory access (DMA) controller, timer/counters, an interrupt controller, wait-state generators, and address decoding for chip choices. User interfaces, external regulating loops (such as speed and location), and system-level operations make up DCP software.

• A processor for motor control (MCP). a microcontroller (U21) with an 80C196 processor that has high-speed I/O, analog I/O, traditional digital I/O, timer/counters, and a watchdog timer. Inner loops like current regulators and motor/technology-specific features like dc phase control, ac motion control, and ac general purpose make up MCP software.

• For motor control algorithms that are too sophisticated for the MCP, a TMS320C25 digital signal processor (U35) executes math-intensive operations. Only when the drive requires the extra processing power does the SDCC use this processor and the electronics that go along with it. The only devices with which the CMP interfaces are its dual-ported RAM and EPROM.

• Five memory chips make up the onboard software for the DS200SDCC card: four EPROMs (U11, U12, U22, and U23) that carry factory-programmed configuration data and one EEPROM (U9) that stores field-adjustable settings. On the SDCC, these memory chips are housed in sockets.

AUXILIARY BOARD MOUNTING PROVISIONS:

Additional auxiliary boards and modules can be mounted using the SDCC mounting facilities. The SDCC is compatible with the following boards:

• DS215SLCC or 531X306LCC LAN Communications Card
• 531X309SPC Signal Processor Card
• DS200SPCB Multibridge Signal Processor Card

Mark VI

Mark VI control systems are available in Simplex and Triple Redundant forms for small applications and large integrated systems with control ranging from a single module to many distributed modules. The name Triple Module Redundant (TMR) is derived from the basic architecture with three completely separate and independent Control Modules, power supplies, and IONets. Mark VI is the third generation of triple redundant control systems that were pioneered by GE in 1983. System throughput enables operation of up to nine, 21-slot VME racks of I/O cards at 40 ms including voting the data. Inputs are voted in software in a scheme called Software Implemented Fault Tolerance (SIFT). The VCMI card in each Control Module receives inputs from the Control Module back-plane and other modules via "its own" IONet.

Data from the VCMI cards in each of the three Control Modules is then exchanged and voted prior to transmitting the data to the main processor cards for execution of the application software. Output voting is extended to the turbine with three coil servos for control valves and 2 out of 3 relays for critical outputs such as hydraulic trip solenoids. Other forms of output voting are available, including a median select of 4-20ma outputs for process control and 0- 200ma outputs for positioners.
