MVI56-HART
♦ 1.Setting Jumpers
The Setup Jumper acts as "write protection" for the module's firmware. In "write protected" mode, the Setup pins are not connected, and the module's firmware cannot be overwritten. The module is shipped with the Setup jumper OFF. Do not jumper the Setup pins together unless you are directed to do so by ProSoft Technical Support (or you want to update the module firmware). The following illustration shows the MVI56-HART jumper configuration with the Setup Jumper OFF.

Note: If you are installing the module in a remote rack, you may prefer to leave the Setup pins jumpered. That way, you can update the module's firmware without requiring physical access to the module. 
MVI56-GSC

The MVI56 Generic ASCII Serial Interface Module is a fast and easy way to add two fully configurable ASCII communication ports to the ControlLogix platform without consuming the front port of the processor, or using valuable processing time. 
♦ Features and Benefits
The MVI56-GSC module is a single slot, backplane compatible solution for the ControlLogix platform. This module has two powerful and fully configurable ASCII communication ports, each supporting the sending and receiving of large ASCII character strings. With the implementation of some supporting ladder logic in the processor, the many different devices supporting ASCII communications can be integrated into the ControlLogix platform. 
MVI56-MDA4
The MVI56 MDA Scientific CM4 Gas Analyzer Master Module allows Rockwell Automation ControlLogix processors to interface easily as a host with MDA Scientific CM4 gas monitoring hardware (See MVI56- MDA16 for a System 16 solution).
Features and Benefits
The MVI56-MDA4 module acts as an input/output module between the CM4 network and the Rockwell Automation backplane. The data transfer from the ControlLogix processor is asynchronous from the actions on the CM4 network. A 5000-word register space in the module is used to exchange data between the processor and the CM4 network. 
MVI56-AFC
The MVI56E-AFC module from ProSoft Technology is an enhanced flow computer designed specifically for ControlLogix® systems. It integrates the advanced calculation, archiving, and reporting capabilities of a standalone flow computer directly into the PLC chassis, providing a unified automation and measurement solution for oil and gas custody transfer and allocation applications.This in-chassis design reduces overall costs and complexity by combining functions into a single scalable platform. It enables the use of ControlLogix I/O, communication protocols, and wireless options to minimize field wiring. As site requirements expand, measurement capacity can be easily increased by adding additional MVI56E-AFC modules, offering a truly scalable and efficient automation solution.
MVI56-GEC
The MVI56E-GEC module is designed to perform as a drop in replacement for the legacy MVI56-GEC module. As such, no ladder logic changes are required to replace an MVI56-GEC module with an Enhanced MVI56E-GEC module.
The only difference between the MVI56-GEC module and the Enhanced MVI56E-GEC module is that Configuration and Debug on the MVI56E-GEC is done via an Ethernet connection to the module instead of via an RS232 serial port connection that was available on the MVI56-GEC. 

MVI56-EGD
The Ethernet Global Data (EGD) module can be used to interface many different protocols with EGD devices. The EGD driver supports
both the producer/consumer service port (18246) and the command service port (7937) using the UDP protocol over an IP network. The
user defines the data to be produced and consumed in a configuration file downloaded to the module.
GE Ethernet Global Data Communication Module MVI56-EGD
Use the inRAx EGD module to connect various field devices using different networks or protocols, and share data between these
devices over a wired connection. This is accomplished by exchanging shared common database information with the efficient but powerful Ethernet Global Data protocol.

Step Description
MVI56 Backplane Data Transfer
The MVI56-ADM module communicates directly over the backplane. Data is paged between the module and the ControlLogix processor across the backplane using the module's input and output images. The update frequency of the images is determined by the scheduled scan rate defined by the user for the module, and by the communication load on the module. Typical updates are in the range of 2 to 10 milliseconds.

Modbus Master/Slave Communication Module MVI56
The MVI56 Modbus Master/Slave Communication Module allows Rockwell Automation® ControlLogix® processors to interface easily with
other Modbus protocol compatible devices. The module acts as an Options module between the Modbus network and the ControlLogix backplane. Compatible devices include not only Modicon® PLCs (almost all support the Modbus protocol) but also a wide range of process and control devices from a variety of manufacturers. Many SCADA packages also support the Modbus protocol.

Install the Module in the Rack
1 Turn power OFF.
2 Align the module with the top and bottom guides, and slide it into the rack until the module is firmly against the backplane connector.
3 With a firm but steady push, snap the module into place.
4 Check that the holding clips on the top and bottom of the module are securely in the locking holes of the rack.
5 Make a note of the slot location. You will need to identify the slot in which the module is installed in order for the sample program to work correctly. Slot numbers are identified on the green circuit board (backplane) of the ControlLogix rack.
6 Turn power ON.
